HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE?

Minimum age to receive a tattoo is 18 and we require a valid ID.

ARE TATTOOS SAFE?

Yes, as long as you choose a reputable tattoo artist that is following all recommended safety precautions. Be completely honest with your tattoo artist about any medical condition you may have or if you are prone to fainting. Before a session, get a good night sleep, have a full meal and some sugar, to help prevent dizziness or nausea, and to increase your pain tolerance. Getting a tattoo with a low blood sugar level is not ideal.

HOW WILL I KNOW IF THE TATTOO PARLOUR IS CLEAN AND SAFE?

Tattoo shops are subject to regular health inspection. Blacklist Tattoo has passed every inspection since opening.

DOES IT HURT? DO YOU OFFER ANY NUMBING/ANESTHETIC?

Pain tolerance varies by person. Yes, getting a tattoo hurts. The pain is manageable but some areas are more sensitive than others.

We discourage the use of numbing agents, but will handle this on a case-by-case basis, so discuss it with your artist.

DO YOU OFFER CONSULTATIONS?

Yes. Consultations are free and recommended. A consultation allows you to work with the artist and decide if you are comfortable, and they are aligned with your vision.

WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING YOUR FIRST TATTOO?

You should have a good idea of what you want and where you want it placed. Do some research. This art will be with you for a while. Have a good idea of what you want when you go to your consultation with your artist. an Experienced artist will take your idea and work through it to enhance your vision.

Consider your budget, sizing? Consultation will help to answer these questions.

HOW MUCH WILL MY TATTOO COST?

The cost of your tattoo will depend on its size, location, amount of detail, and the time needed to complete it.

For larger projects, pricing is determined by the length of the session and whether or not the tattoo is black & grey or color. Pricing should be discussed during consultation.

DO YOU TAKE WALK-INS?

Yes, per artist availability. Wait times are not guaranteed, so appointments are recommended.

HOW ABOUT COVER-UPS?

Yes. If you have a piece that just isn't working for you anymore, we will be happy to transform it into something you can be excited about again. Contact one of our artists directly to discuss & plan out your cover-up process.

HOW DO I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?

Please contact your artist directly in order to be added to their respective schedules.

We understand you want to get in as soon as possible, but please be as flexible as you can with us when booking your appointment.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

Please do not drink alcohol or use any type of blood thinning OTC medication (such as Ibuprofen and Aspirin) within 24 hours of your appointment.

Please refrain from sun exposure/tanning beds the 2 weeks prior to (as well as the 2 weeks after) your appointment. Get a good rest the night before, eat a full meal, and drink plenty of water before coming in. We recommend you wear loose, comfortable clothing that will limit obstruction to the area we will be tattooing.

WHAT DO I BRING?

If you are a new client, please bring a government-issued photo ID with you to your first appointment.

Please bring any reference material. On the day of your tattoo appointment, please bring anything your artist requested during your consultation. Feel free to bring your headphones, a tablet, book, magazine, bottle of water/any other non-alcoholic beverage with a lid, and light snacks if desired.

I FEEL LIKE I MIGHT BE GETTING SICK. CAN I STILL GET TATTOOED?

If you are sick, please stay home. Our artists value their health as well as the health of their families, so we do not want to spend hours, in close contact, with anyone who is sick.

If you are sick we will reschedule your appointment, to get you in as soon as possible, after you are feeling better. Our artists reserve the right to cancel your appointment on the spot if you show up for your tattoo visibly sick.

HOW ABOUT KIDS?

No one under the age of 18 is allowed in the shop. This includes the lobby and bathrooms.
